  Foundation Management & Grant Writing

Josh Zipperman

Developing an early interest in public affairs, Josh Zipperman began his career as intern for Los Angeles City Councilmember Laura Chick while in high school. During his years as a undergrad at the University of California Los Angeles, Josh fell under the wing of Brian Rix and began working on the political fundraising campaigns of Governor Gray Davis, Los Angeles County Sherriff Lee Baca, Los Angeles City Councilmember Tom LaBonge and the Los Angeles Community College District to name a few.

Mr. Zipperman then went on to help jump start Burke Rix Communications, a Coachella Valley based government affairs, public relations, and event management firm in Palm Springs, California. Josh became an immediate expert in grant funding, honing his many State and Federal contacts to get exclusive updates on new opportunities and their flow down the pipeline. He worked and continues to work with many local Coachella Valley Cities and other agencies to digest grant opportunities, write grants and successfully procure funding.

Josh has had an integral hand in the development, marketing and management of the 2012 Southern California Energy Summit and Measure J campaign for the City of Palm Springs. Zipperman was recently successful in leading Safeway Vons to significant victory on a number of land use and entitlement issues throughout the Coachella Valley. Currently, he is leading the outreach and marketing efforts for the Coachella Valley Association of Governments’ Green for Life program.

Zipperman is a graduate of Leadership Coachella Valley and sits on the board of directors of the Mizell Senior Center as well as being a member of the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee.
